In the second chapter, the book points out why 95% of all fat loss makes an attempt are unsuccessful, and why conventional consuming plans such as those that require calorie counting or consuming less, just cannot work long-term. Tom then gives eight bodyweight} loss strategies that are less difficult to stick to than cutting out foods, and that won't make you feel hungry or deprived.

The next few chapters deal with more technical issues like how to measure your body fat ratio, and how to "zigzag." Zigzagging is a strategy used for many years by bodybuilders before a contest to lower body fat percentage. As each person is different, you will need to work out your base calorie needs and how high you need to lower and raise them to zigzag successfully. However, this is defined very well in the Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle book, and you should have no trouble understanding exactly how to calculate your own zigzagging needs once you have read the manual.

Chapter seven of the book is an interesting one, as Tom Venuto discusses meal frequency and how often to eat to raise your metabolic rate. Tom endorses repeated consuming for maximum fat burn, which as well as keeping your metabolism high also stops you from sensing hungry.

A very large part of the middle of the book is used up with describing the three essential macronutrients; fats, necessary protein and carbohydrates. The book goes into great detail describing why the human body must have all three, and what food choices are optimal sources, as certainly in the case of fats and carbs, not all choices are identical. Some varieties of fats will really help you lose fat}, like those identified in avocados or olives, but other kinds, mainly trans fats, will not only pile on the pounds but also contribute to heart disease, risk of stroke, and high cholesterol.

The end of the manual deals with the most essential information, what to eat and how often to exercise. If you are the type of person who wants to be provided with a list of foods containing precisely what to eat at each meal, and the exact ingredients and a recipe, you may be a Little disappointed in this section. Burn the Fat is more about educating you on the kinds of food to eat and letting you make the final choice about what is on your plate.
